Viking Invitational

Joe hands off the baton to Fergus Houston, a pal from Great Britain.

Tim keeps track of Kona, who was pooped out after running around the track once with Joe and some friends as a warm-up before the meet.

Joe and his best friend, Matt Wesling, walk around after a long run.

Joe and Fergus cheer on their team mates.

Ryan McClurg passed the baton to Joe.

On Wednesday, May 7th, there was ANOTHER track meet. Two meets in three days...with a big pasta dinner made by the track parents for the kids on the day inbetween! This was our only "home" track meet and the first of it's kind at ISS. Unfortunately, none of the local clubs came! So it was just the ISS kids...which we had nearly 50 running that day in 4 events each. It was a beautiful day and the kids had a great time. Joe ran in the 4 X 200 relay, 4 X 400 relay, 1500 m, and participated in the shot put. He did quite well for such a diversified group of events. We found out recently that he was selected to go to Sigtuna, Sweden at the end of May for the NECIS invitational track meet. NECIS is the group of international schools throughout Europe. Congratulations Joe! We are so proud of you!
