Hike to Manafossen
On Sunday, we took advantage of the uncharacteristically warm weather and hiked Manafossen. It is quite a steep hike but isn't too long. We decided to continue on past the overlook around to the top of the falls. We were right out on the rock over the 4th largest fall in Norway. Pretty cool...pretty scary. We all took turns taking drinks of the cold mountain water.
Lily was a trooper and hiked the whole way on foot. She did a fabulous job. Rich couldn't carry her with his bad shoulder and we wanted to have her go as far as possible on her own...which ended up being the whole way. The whole trip was about 3 hours long!
Joe was warm enough to feel he needed to jump into the lake at the bottom for a swim. Yikes, was it ever cold! He said his skin burned for a full 5 minutes after getting in. It was too cold for Rich to stick his feet in, so you know it had to be cold!
