Mother's Day...a day later...
Lily and I were driving home from the gym today when we passed some horses near a dyreklinik (vet building). In the corner of my eye, I caught a brief glimpse of one of the horses beginning to give birth. I turned around and parked in the parking lot and stood on a boulder with Lily to watch this miracle take place. The brown horse that is in some of the pictures is a male. As soon as the foal was born, he was laying down near the mom and scratching his back and kicking his heels up. I don't know if he was the proud papa, but he certainly acted like it! He was the only one that the mom didn't shoo away from her baby. When I left, the farmer and some other men were out there trying to help the foal walk and check him or her out. It was finally standing for a couple of seconds at a time...wobbling about. Baby horses are all legs! Lily and I had quite a long talk about what we saw today. We were very lucky to catch this big event! Happy Mother's Day to the new momma on 509! :o)

Amazing! Foals are so adorable when they are cleaned up. Good luck on your test tomorrow! I've got your back with Lily if you need it. :)
