Play Ball!
The boys are both playing baseball this spring...Joe in the Pony's and Tim in the Major's. There aren't many kids in the Pony league, so they divy up teams each Saturday to play. However, the Major league has several teams. Tim is on the Blue Jays and has some terrific coaches. I am team mom. There are 7 nationalities represented on his team, which I think is just really cool. It doesn't make them very good though...they are all quite new to the game and are unfamiliar with equipment, terminology and rules. It is just as fun to be in the stands and explain to their parents. I found myself explaining to my Dutch friend, Karin, what those "white pillows" were for...(the bases). :o) Each team makes chilli for the league one Saturday. I had a lot of volunteers from our team families....but several had to ask me what chilli was first. :o)
Tim got a homerun the very first game...the first of the league. Way to go slugger!
